This series of paintings is inspired by scientific thought, particularly as it relates to phenomena we cannot yet explain. The alchemical process of painting becomes a study in moving toward the unknown to uncover its meaning. The paint reaction in water - granulating, evaporating - towards its final form is as much a result of the artist's intention as it is a surrender to the physical forces of the universe in action.
